Berlin-based designer Svenja Specht is the creative mind behind the label Reality Studio. She studied fashion and product design and worked in fashion, graphic, costume and product design for several years before launching Reality Studio in 2005. Her interest in other cultures and languages led to several years of living and working abroad in cities such as Beijing and Paris before settling down in Berlin. The professional experiences gathered during this time as well as further travels have become her significant inspirations and the starting point for her experimental designs. The collections are produced in Germany and are distributed in Japan, China, USA and Europe. Reality Studio has collaborated on projects with artists such as Jen Ray and Michael Kalki and participated at a project of Rirkrit Tiravanija in Berlin. Since 2010, Reality Studio collaborates with Onitsuka Tiger /Asics on limited edition sneaker designs of which the first were available in selected stores in January 2011 - more designs will follow in July and December 2011.
